Officer’s Training Program

  • Verbal Communication Skills; Proper communications can defuse many types of

        situations, improper communications can create situations that can spin out of control.

  • Threat Assessment; Understanding different threats and how to respond to those

        threats can give the security officer the upper hand on dealing with that threat.

  • First-Aid and C.P.R.; A security officer should be skilled in basic first-aid and c.p.r.

        The security officer many times will be the first on site and knowing these skills can

        save a life.

  • Hand to Hand Self-Defense; It is important that the security officer knows how to

        defend themselves as well as others from attacks. The security officer may not have the

        time to use the equipment on his belt or to call law enforcement.

  • Searches;The security officer needs to be able to search an individual, to check for

        weapons or other items that they may have and can harm someone with.

  • Report Writing; Reports are important because they tell a store, it maybe a shift or a

        incident report, these reports if properly done can be very useful to our clients.

  • Detaining Techniques; Detaining an individual may need to be done if that person is

        harming someone elsa, harming themselves, or harming the property that the security

        officer is providing security for. We make a point to inform the individual that they are

        not being arrested, just detained.

  • Foot and Vehicle Patrolling ; Understanding techniques of a foot patrol or a vehicle

        patrol will create a much more in-depth patrol and unlikelihood of missing anything.

  • State of Maine Laws for Security Personnel; For the security officer to be the best

        at what they do, they need to understand the laws in their duties as a security officer, as

        well as the basic understanding of criminal law

  • Equipment Training; If the security officer is going to carry equipment, than they

        need to learn when, where and how to use this equipment, as well as understanding the

        laws on the use of this equipment; Baton, Pepper Spray, Stun-Gun, Handcuffs,

        Non-latex, Gloves, Flashlight, Audio Recorder. this is stander equipment for all security
