Officer’s Training Program Verbal Communication Skills; Proper communications can defuse many types of         situations, improper communications can create situations that can spin out of control. Threat Assessment; Understanding different threats and how to respond to those         threats can give the security officer the upper hand on dealing with that threat. First-Aid and C.P.R.; A security officer should be skilled in basic first-aid and c.p.r.         The security officer many times will be the first on site and knowing these skills can         save a life. Hand to Hand Self-Defense; It is important that the security officer knows how to         defend themselves as well as others from attacks. The security officer may not have the         time to use the equipment on his belt or to call law enforcement. Searches;The security officer needs to be able to search an individual, to check for         weapons or other items that they may have and can harm someone with.
